Another Great Night of Mutton Busting in Lufkin? Ewe Betcha!
Another night of mutton busting...another night of multiple 90-point rides at the Angelina Benefit Rodeo.
The rodeo in Lufkin closed out Friday with 'Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night'. A packed house was on hand to watch all the action including the final night of championship mutton busting.
12 more young cowboys and cowgirls rode sheep with names such as Wooly Nelson, Ewe Betcha, Lady Baa Baa, and A Sheep At The Wheel. Our riders came from Lufkin, Pollok, Zavalla, Huntington, Nacogdoches, Ratcliff, Waco, and even the state of Maryland.
The championship ride of the night belonged to 7-year-old Gunner Walker of Zavalla. He rode the sheep named Seat Cover from one end of the arena to the other, and then almost halfway back again. That earned him a score of 93 points.
Ryan Windsor from Waco had the other 90+ point ride of the night as he rode Wooly Wonka for a score of 91 points.
