All’s Wool That Ends Wool – Mutton Busters Shine in Nacogdoches

Night number one of the Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo kicked off with some of the best professional cowboys and cowgirls participating in events such as barrel racing, bronc riding, roping, and bull riding.

But, the first contestants coming out from the chute gates were kids from East Texas holding on as tight as they could on lightning-fast sheep. Well, maybe not quite that fast, but it sounds better than trotting onto the arena floor.

The scores were tightly packed, but in the end, 7-year-old Kaegan Owens from Nacogdoches took the nightly top spot with an 80-point ride. He was followed closely by Adalynn Caldwell of Center who rode for 79 points, and in third was Ivy Gigler of Nacogdoches with a 78-point ride.
