Nacogdoches Chamber Passes Torch to New Chairman of the Board
In late September, the 101st Nacogdoches Chamber of Commerce Banquet was held at the Fredonia Hotel and Convention Center. During the event, Dustin Beavers passed the torch of Chairman of the Board of Directors to Dr. Ryan Head.
That symbolic presentation was made official a few days later on October 1. The Nacogdoches Chamber of Commerce issued a press release that provided some insight about the new Chairman of the Board.
Dr. Ryan Head was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. After an undergraduate education at The Citadel, he earned his medical degree at Ross University Medical School.
He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson, MS. Since graduating from residency in 2012, he has been on faculty at UMMC and LSU-HSC in Shreveport, LA.
He and his wife, Dr. Rachel Head, moved to her hometown of Nacogdoches in July 2014. When not working, they have another full-time job raising their three boys here in Nacogdoches.
Head Pediatrics opened to the public on June 1, 2015, and prides itself on providing the best care they can for their patients. By September 5, 2017, the practice had grown enough to open the second location.
"With so many Chamber issues focused on health care, it is fortunate that we have someone with Dr. Ryan's background as our chairman." C. Wayne Mitchell, President & CEO says. "His desire to serve and willingness to provide critical leadership will greatly benefit the Chamber and Nacogdoches County."
Congratulations to Dr. Ryan Head, and a huge thanks to Dustin Beavers for his outstanding job of serving the people and businesses of Nacogdoches County.
