Numerous East Texas Athletes Qualify for State Cross Country Meet
When the summer break began back in early June, it started. Many high school athletes across East Texas started working out and training for the 2022 cross country season.
District meets took place a couple of weeks ago, and regional meets just a few days ago. Now, we are just a few days away from the ultimate goal -- the UIL Cross County State Meet which will take place on November 4-5 at Old Settler's Park in Round Rock, Texas.
Quite a few young men and women representing schools and teams across the Pineywoods excelled at regionals and have qualified for the state championship meet. In fact, Paige Layton of Central Heights and Misael Hernandez are regional champions, and the Tenaha boys teams are the Region III, Class 2A regional champs.
