Here Are the Lyrics to Pink’s Duet With Chris Stapleton, ‘Love Me Anyway’
Pink called on Chris Stapleton to help with one of the most soulful new songs on her new album, and he seems to really feel the "Love Me Anyway" lyrics.
The pop star co-wrote the heartfelt ballad with Allen Shamblin and Thomas Douglas, and it appears on her Hurts 2B Human project. In a video from the recording session with Stapleton, you can see how in awe Pink is of his vocals.
"Chris Stapleton is the best that ever did it," she declares via Twitter:
This isn't Pink's first rodeo when it comes to country music collaborations. She had a No. 1 with Kenny Chesney on "Setting the World on Fire," and she sang her song "Barbies" at the 2017 CMA Awards. "Barbies" was co-written and produced by Ross Golan, who has worked with Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum.
Stapleton's vocals as he sings the "Love Me Anyway" lyrics are nothing short of soulful and masterful country, but he has lent his voice to other pop projects, too, working with Justin Timberlake on a number of occasions. Stapleton also co-wrote Adele's cover of the SteelDrivers' "If It Hadn't BeenforFor Love."
Pink and Chris Stapleton's "Love Me Anyway" Lyrics:
Verse 1: Pink
Even if you see my scars, even if I break your heart / If we're a million miles apart, do you think you'd walk away? / If I get lost in all the noise, even if I lose my voice / Flirt with all the other boys, what would you say?
Chorus: Pink
Could you? / Could you? / Could you love me anyway?
Verse 2: Pink and Chris Stapleton
Is it for better or for worse, or am I just your good time girl? / Can you still hold me when it hurts, or would you walk away? / Even if I scandalize you, cut you down and criticize you / Tell a million lies about you, what would you say?
Chorus: Pink & Chris Stapleton
Could you? / Could you? / Could you? / Could you love me anyway? / Could you? (Aw, could you?) / Could you? (Could you?) / Could you? / Could you love me anyway? / Could you?
Outro: Pink and Chris Stapleton
Could you? (Could you still love me?) / Could you? (Pick up the pieces of me?) / Could you? (Could you still love me?) / Could you love me anyway? / Could you? (Ooh, could you still love me?) / Could you? (Pick up the pieces of me?) / Could you? (Could you still love me?) / Could you love me anyway? / Could you? (Could you catch me when I fall?) / Could you? (And we rise above it all) / Could you? (And hold me when it hurts) / I can't stay here in the world, could you? / Could you? Could you? Could you?
