Free Food, Fun, and Football This Saturday at Rex Perry Autoplex

It's finally here. The 2026 football season is about to kick off. This Thursday and Friday, numerous area high school football teams will get their season underway. On Saturday, college football goes full tilt with numerous games scheduled across the United States. Tailgate parties are synonymous with football, and KICKS 105 is teaming up with Rex Perry Autoplex in Nacogdoches for a big one.

What to Expect at the Rex Perry Tailgate Party

Saturday, August 29, from 12 noon until 2 p.m., you're invited to stop by a huge kickoff tailgate party at Rex Perry Autoplex, located at 3916 NW Stallings Drive in Nacogdoches. Stop by for fun games and lots of prizes, plus Sombrero's Coastal Tex-Mex will be there serving free, delicious al pastor tacos. Of course, the crew at Rex Perry will have outstanding deals and great inventory on the lot. The KICKS 105 Road Show with Danny Merrell will also be on hand, providing great music for the event. Everybody attending is encouraged to represent their favorite teams by wearing team logos and clothing.

Big Games For Opening Weekend

It's the first weekend of football, but there will already be some great matchups. On the high school side, Lufkin and Longview will do battle in a long-standing rivalry, and Nacogdoches will start the new era of head coach Jay Brown when the Dragons host state-ranked Athens. Meanwhile, on the college gridiron, our own SFA Lumberjacks will start their defense of the Southland Conference championship when they travel Saturday evening to take on McNeese in Lake Charles. Axe 'em!
