Unimaginable Pain: These Singers Have Lost Children:

According to a statement, Todd Milsap was raised in Nashville, where he attended Franklin Road Academy and Hillsboro High School. As an adult, he worked for his father in a behind-the-scenes capacity on his recordings, tours and videos.

Ronnie Milsap remembered his son and asked for prayers in a joint statement with his wife, Joyce.

"Our son Todd was a force of joy, life, creativity and giving from the moment he was born," the statement reads. "He made such a mark on our world in his years on this planet, everyone who met him was richer for it. It is too soon to even understand this loss, and I hope it's something no one has to [bear]. Please keep his three children, their mothers and Joyce and I in your prayers at such a fragile time."

Ronnie Milsap was one of the biggest country and crossover hitmakers of the '70s and '80s, scoring a string of hits that includes "Pure Love," "It Was Almost Like a Song," "Only One Love in My Life," "Smoky Mountain Rain" and more. He is a CMA, ACM and Grammy Award winner, and he's been inducted into both the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Woodlawn Funeral Home is set to handle funeral arrangements for Todd Milsap. Details are to be announced.
