When Does Season 16 of ‘The Voice’ Start?
We've just witnessed the crowning of a new Voice champion (that would be Kelly Clarkson's first country winner, Chevel Shepherd, who took the honor on Dec. 18). However, fans of the show are likely already wondering when to expect the start of Season 16.
The answer to that is blessedly not too long away, as NBC informed viewers that Feb. 25 will usher in a whole new set of hopeful stars on the hit reality series. Coaches Clarkson, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine will return, while Jennifer Hudson will be exiting and replaced by John Legend.
Legend has had his share of appearances on the series, most recently on the Dec. 18 finale when he sang "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” alongside Esperanza Spalding. He'll be a fun addition to the red chairs, not only to watch his interactions with the famed Adam-Blake bromance, but also by the fact his post will render Clarkson as the sole female on the team—something she hasn't dealt with yet. (In her first season on the show, Clarkson had Alicia Keys helping her out in the girl-power department.)
It will also, of course, be amusing to read social media commentary from Legend's infamously outspoken/humorous wife, Chrissy Teigen, during the season's run.
Shelton remains the coach with the most wins, having racked up six. Clarkson now has two wins under her belt, while Levine has three.
