Did you know the Texas Forestry Museum, located at 1905 Atkinson Dr., Lufkin, has a varied calendar of summer events for the benefit of our local kids, from kindergartners up to 12 year old?

For the month of June alone, the selection of activities is pretty spiffy.

On Tuesdays, starting on June 6, and running through August 8, the Texas Forestry Museum is hosting "Tuesdays at 2" where kids will enjoy a story time and a craft.  The activities will be different each subsequent Tuesday, and you can you can sign your kid or kids up to participate for the low, low, cost of FREE!

On Thursday, June 8, the Texas Forestry Museum is hosting "Wet 'n Wild Whistle Time".   This event happens from from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.   Attending kids will have the opportunity to help wash the museum's train and play water games.

The Museum is also hosting a multi-day education camp Monday, June 12 through Friday June 16, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, billed as "EEK! Week".   Children entering 5th - 7th grade this fall are invited.   This camp involves travel all over East Texas for the opportunity to learn about forestry and nature.   The cost is $75.00 per child.

On June 19, the Museum is hosting "Timber Tots" from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.   This event is for children ages 4 - Kindergarten where they will enjoy history and nature related activities.  The cost is $40.00 per child.

As you can see, there are a lot of local and educational activities available for your young children right here in Lufkin!  And I've only covered the remaining month of June.   Please visit The Texas Forestry Museum website for more detailed information and contact information.
