The team at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin will be hosting their annual Spooky Safety Saturday on October 28 at the hospital's parking lot. The event will start at 9 a.m. and last until noon.

The main purpose of the event is to teach and demonstrate safety protocols to kids and families. Injuries are best prevented through education and this is what Spooky Safety Saturday is all about.

Bikes...Bikes...and More Bikes

In order to entice families to attend the event, Woodland Heights Medical Center will be giving away numerous bicycles. Last year, nearly 60 bicycles were given away through the generosity of many sponsors.

This year, they are hoping to give away around 80 bikes.

How to Win a Bike

It's easy to register. All kids attending the event will get a free raffle ticket. The giveaways will be held every 15-30 minutes, and you must be present to win.

That means, the sooner you get to the event, the better your chances of winning a bicycle and helmet.

Cool Emergency Vehicles

Kids will get the chance to get up close looks at firetrucks, ambulances, police vehicles, and more. The PHI Air Medical Helicopter will also be there so that kids can get a look at how the medics transport patients through the air.

The KICKS 105 Road Show will also be at the Spooky Safety Saturday from 9-noon.
