Steve Moakler Reimagines ‘Suitcase’ in Acoustic Video [Exclusive Premiere]
The most popular song from Steve Moakler's Steel Town album just got a makeover, as the singer has cut an acoustic version of "Suitcase."
The reimagined studio recording is now available for fans through this Taste of Country premiere. Find Moakler and three of his bandmates in the round, recording this version live. Drums, acoustic and accordion accompany Moakler's singing and guitar work. There's something about the new version that feels made for a campfire.
The acoustic version of "Suitcase" is available across various digital platforms.
Earlier this year, the Pittsburgh native told Taste of Country about the first time he heard the demo for "Suitcase," a song written by Luke Laird, Barry Dean and Thomas Rhett.
"I was on tour with my wife in a camper, we were traveling across the country playing for fans from all over," he said. "When we put this song on, we were driving in Minnesota — the road was wide open and the sky was beautiful — and we felt so much of those lyrics in that moment. This song is about valuing the simple things in life and not getting caught up in all of the distractions that pull us away from each other."
Moakler's touring schedule for 2017 has wrapped up, but it included a stop at Taste of Country Music Festival in Hunter, N.Y.
Wait! Steve, Don't Go ... We Have One Last Question!
