A few weeks ago, I was about to shave, but for some reason, decided to put it off until the following day. Well, I've been putting it off for quite a few consecutive days.
There aren’t a lot of ‘firsts’ that I get to experience any more. I’ll be 53 in August, and over the course of time I’ve had my first broken bone, seen my first child born, and tried liver for the first (and only) time. A few weeks ago, I had another first, and it’s a first I had hoped to never experience.
Well, the title is a little misleading. These are five of my favorite love songs, but this is like asking me to name my top five movies of all time. I can give you a few off the top of my head, but then tomorrow I'll remember a few more, and in another week several more.

The annual Nacogdoches County Area Go Texans Scholarship Dance is taking place and once again, yours truly, Danny Merrell, has been invited to play host to a Dance Hall Saturday Night.
The Pineywoods Fair is underway at the Nacogdoches Expo and Civic Center. It continues through Sunday with the carnival midway and numerous events and fun activities.
I saw ‘that look’ on February 19th, 2016. It was just after 1 a.m. I knew exactly what ‘that look’ meant, but that didn’t make it any easier to accept. A tragedy was about to occur and there wasn’t anything I could or should do about it...

There is a type of discrimination that has not improved over the past 50+ years. In fact, I'm sad to say this form of discrimination is widely accepted across the world and certainly so right here in the Land of the Free.
I'm referring to Bathroom Discrimination.
