So far in 2017, sunlight in Deep East Texas has been a little tough to find. The good news is that Friday should bring us a sunny day, the bad news is that about 4 inches of rain could fall between now and that sunshine.
It looks like East Texas is in for a '1-2 weather punch' over the next several days as a series of storms is expected to bring the possibility of severe storms and multiple heavy downpours.
Severe weather and massive rainfall amounts are threatening the Pineywoods over the next several days. Up to a foot of rain could fall in parts of our area.

4-8 inches of rain have fallen across the Deep East Texas area this morning which has lead to numerous reports of water over roadways. Also, due to power outages, Wells ISD will be letting out at 12:30 today. Buses will also run at that time.
Heavy rain and severe storms should spread throughout the East Texas area on Tuesday. In fact, the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch which is in effect Tuesday from 6 AM until Midnight.

8 to 15 inches of rain and scattered reports of tornadoes greeted residents of San Marcos, Wimberley, Austin, and surrounding areas Friday morning.
On Friday, parts of north central and northeast Texas experienced rains totaling over 10 inches. Major roadways such as Interstates 45 and 35 were impassable and continue to be shut down in some areas.
Rainfall from the remnants of Tropical Depression Bill continues to cause flooding across parts of East Texas. The National Weather Service has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Angelina and Nacogdoches counties until 6:45 this evening.
