An overturned 18-wheeler just south of Lufkin is causing major delays on Highway 59.

The Texas Department of Transportation is advising motorists of delays on Highway 59 between Lufkin and Nacogdoches because of an overturned 18-wheeler.

An overturned 18-wheeler near Woodland Hills Golf Course is expected to cause delays on southbound Highway 59 through lunch time.

The speed limit on US 59 between Lufkin and Diboll will again be lowered as construction work continues to resurface the roadway as weather permits.

Prepare for Detours on Highways 59 and 69 This Wednesday/Thursday

Work crews with the Texas Department of Transportation are scheduled to do some evening and late night work on US 59/South First Street in Lufkin this week.

The speed limit on 59 between Lufkin and Diboll has been reduced due to a project that should last close to a year. Enforcement of the new limit has begun.

The Southbound Highway 59/Loop 287 direct connector in Lufkin is scheduled for closure this Wednesday afternoon, April 25th.

Emergency crews responded early this Friday morning to a vehicle fire at the Neches River Bridge on the northbound lanes of Highway 59 South of Diboll.

The Highway 59 Southbound direct connector in Lufkin will be closed throughout the day on Wednesday.

This past week, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announced plans of a resurfacing project on Highway 59 north of Lufkin which will cause delays and temporary one lane closures.

Late this morning (1/4/17), TxDOT officials reported that a tractor-trailer rig had its oversized load shift while in transit on Highway 59 North between Lufkin and Nacogdoches.
