Kelsee Selman pitched the Hudson Lady Hornets to back to back 3A state championships, but how would she perform on a much larger stage.  How about a 4-0 record for the #24 LSU Tigers which includes a recent no-hitter and this week's honor of being name the Southeastern Conference's Softball Pitcher of the Week.

There was only one team in all of Texas that repeated as state softball champions - How 'bout those Hudson Lady Hornets.  Hudson scored early and often and then held off what almost became an historic Mineola rally to win 12-9.

The Hudson girls soccer team has never won a playoff game...until this season. The Lady Hornets won the bi-district championship earlier this week when they ousted Brenham 1-0.  Now, we go for the area championship against one of the tougher teams in the state.

What a year for Hudson's standout softball pitcher. Kelsee Selman and her teammates have a state championship to their credit, plus the senior-to-be  received the tournament MVP and she led the state in strikeouts.

Meet Jade Havard, Marlee Guidry, and Lauren Gilcrease, they are three of the seniors from the Class 3A State Champion Hudson Lady Hornets. They joined me on the Merrell in the Morning show to talk a little bit about the season and to talk about fund raising efforts to help pay for their championship rings.

Hudson Lady Hornets - State Champions of Texas, Class 3A Softball...I like the sound of that. Nothing will compare to the experiences, the trophy, and the medals, but I put together a mock up of the play by play for the state title game with 'I Like It, I Love It' as the background song.

Finish...Yes, they did....and they did it with style, grit, grace, and honor. Kelsee Selman struck out 13 batters and the Lady Hornets got 13 hits and won 8-4 over Henderson at the class 3A state championship game in Austin.

The Hudson Lady Hornets put up four early runs in their state semifinal game against the West Lady Trojans and they made it hold up en route to a 5-2 victory and a berth into the class 3A state championship game.

Thursday morning at 9, the Hudson Lady Hornets will be playing the West Lady Trojans in Austin for the right to advance to the 3a state championship game. This morning, a 'send-off' parade was held for the team.

They're fearless, they have fight, and most importantly...they have faith in their God-given abilities and they are quick to give Him all the credit. The Hudson Lady Hornets are heading to state with a chance to capture the 3A championship! After four playoff games of lopsided scores, the Lady Hornets found themselves in unfamiliar territory this evening against Huffman Hargrave.  In fact, it looked as if Hudson would be needing to play a third and deciding game to see who would earn the right to advance to the next round. However, these gals from Hudson don't know the meaning of the word 'quit'.
