The Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo and Steer Show is coming March 27th-29th at the Nacogdoches Expo and Convention Center. One of the big draws for the annual event is the KICKS 105 Mutton Bustin'.
It was a full house at the George H Henderson, Jr. Expo Center in Lufkin Saturday night as the final night of the Angelina Benefit Rodeo came into full swing. It was also the night of the championship round for mutton bustin'.
Another round of 12 young cowboys and cowgirls competed Friday night in the Mutton Bustin' Championships at the Angelina Benefit Rodeo, which means 4 more sheep riders guaranteed their spot in tonight's championship round.
Night number two of the Angelina Benefit Rodeo at the George H Henderson Jr Expo Center in Lufkin brought more spills and thrills in mutton bustin'. I've never seen more kids getting flipped, riding sideways, and getting faces full of dirt...but, they were all tough and came away with some great rides.
The Angelina Benefit Rodeo got underway Wednesday Night at the George H Henderson, Jr. Expo Center in Lufkin. One of the most loved attractions of the night was the mutton bustin'. 12 kids from the area rode sheep with the top four scores guaranteeing themselves a spot in the championship round on Saturday.
This past Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 30 East Texas youngsters between the ages of 3-7 tried their hand at mutton bustin' at the Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo and Steer Show. And, as is usually the case, this event is one of the best crowd-pleasers of the night.
The Angelina Benefit Rodeo kicked off last night at the Expo Center in Lufkin, and once again this year, KICKS 105, Baskins, and Justin were proud to present the Mutton Bustin' Championships.

One of the biggest and best rodeos in the nation is set to kick off tonight at the George H Henderson, Jr. Expo Center. The Lufkin Host Lions Club along with the Angelina County Mounted Patrol are set to present the Angelina Benefit Rodeo this Wednesday thru Saturday.
Of course, one of the most endearing events is the KICKS 105 Mutton Bustin' Championships.
Dustin Ellerman of Zavalla not only won the History Channel's Top Shot title for this past season, he destroyed the competition. Yet, through all the new-found notoriety, he remains the same humble, good-natured Christian young man that he's always been.
The Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo and Steer Show is coming March 22nd-24th at the Nacogdoches Expo Center. Classic Pro Rodeo will once again be putting on a great family rodeo.
And, once again, KICKS 105 will be hosting the mutton bustin' competition each night just before the rodeo.
