A slow moving line of storms this morning has dumped 2 to 5 inches of rain across parts of the Pineywoods

The Texas Department of Transportation will have crews doing road work today in Lufkin in highly traveled areas.

In 2014, 146 people in Texas were killed in work zone crashes.  The Texas Department of Transportation emphasized that by placing 146 safety cones near Timberland Drive on Tuesday morning during their press conference.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, a truck fire around 3:30 this morning has lead to the closure of the northbound outside land of Highway 59 at the intersection of FM 942 in Leggett. No injuries were reported.
