Apparently, Taylor Swift won’t be taking part in ‘Les Miserables’ after all. Though the 22-year-old pop-country hitmaker was spotted in London recently, presumably working out the kinks of her role as Eponine, she has since been pulled from the ‘Les Miserables’ cast list.According to Us Weekly, the part will now be played by musical theatre star Samantha Barks, who was enlisted as Eponine in a 25th anniversary concert. Cameron Mackintosh, who originally created the ‘Les Miserables’ theatre adaptation from the 19th century novel, announced the news at Manchester Palace on Tuesday. Barks later tweeted, “Most incredible moment of my life!!!! X,” sharing the good news with her followers.

But what’s good news for the new Eponine is not such good news for Swift, who may have put a lot of effort into working with Mackintosh in order to prove herself for the role. She’s not the only one who missed out, however — seasoned actresses Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood were also up for the part.

‘Les Miserables’ or not, Swift still has a busy 2012 ahead. The ‘Love Story’ songstress has been hard at work on her forthcoming 2012 album in between jet-setting to Sundance Film Festival and shooting a cover issue for the esteemed Vogue magazine. Somehow, we think she’ll bounce back just fine.
