Texas Residents Find Hundreds Of Pounds Of Cocaine On Beaches
Many of us in East Texas will take to to the roads for a quick Memorial Day vacation at the beach. After a year of lockdown, mask wearing and social distancing, it might just be what the doctor ordered. The beaches have become even more interesting for us here in Texas due to over 110 pounds of booga suga washing up on shore.
This isn't bails of cocaine fallin' from a low flying plane, but Reverend Horton Heat could make another hit out of this situation. Just know that it isn't all fame and riches. There are many hazards a legalities associated with found narcotics in Texas. If you see one of these rectangular packages on the beach, you should alert authorities immediately.
Do not touch any suspicious packages that you find. Substances inside could have been exposed to water, and in a liquid state they could be very harmful. Even if they just touch your skin.
Don't assume that what you have found is necessarily cocaine either. They could be anything from Marijuana to Fentanyl. Some 50 kilos cocaine have been discovered, or 110 pounds. Once the packages get wet, the weight could vary.
If you don't immediately contact authorities you could be charged with possession. I am sure someone on the beach would be glad to report you, so unless you were completely alone, most likely someone saw you. It's just not a good idea to hold on to this stuff.
Most of the packages have been found in Matagorda County between Galveston and Corpus Christi.
