
Here’s How to Win an Armband to the VFW Carnival in Lufkin, Texas
The VFW Fall Carnival is coming to Lufkin September 7-10 on the grounds of the VFW, Post 1836 on Ford Chapel Road.
Isn't It Usually in October?
This annual event is usually held in late September or early October, but this year, the big fundraiser for the VFW in Lufkin will be held a few weeks earlier.
Hours of the Carnival
- Thursday, Sept 7, 6-10 p.m.
- Friday, Sept 8, 5-11 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept 9, 2-11 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept 10, 2-10 p.m.
Armbands
Want to go for the best bargain? Carnival armbands for unlimited rides will be $30 each on Thursday and Friday, and $35 on Saturday and Sunday. A discount of $5 will be offered on Thursday with a donation of three non-perishable food items.
Attractions
There are plenty of great rides for kids of all ages. The older kids have a blast on the Jungle Twist roller coaster, Kamikaze, Gravitron, Tsunami, and the massive OMG. Younger kids might be more in line for the merry-go-round or the gator roller coaster
Of course, there will be plenty of great food available from funnel cakes to pizza to hamburgers. Plus, music will be featured on Friday through Sunday nights on stage. Friday, show your best dance moves for a shot to win $50. Saturday, it's live country music with Steppin' Out, and then Sunday it's Los Companeros Del Compa Chalo.
The Heart of America Shows has been in operation for over fifty years. They will bring over 40 state fair-style rides to the VFW Fall Carnival. There is no charge for parking or admission onto the carnival grounds.

All winners will need to claim their armbands between 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evening at the VFW Carnival. Just go to the Townsquare (KICKS, KFOX, or Q107) broadcast tent and we'll have the winner's list there.
