On October 2nd, there was a pretty incredible show in the sky over Austin, TX. YouTube user Darrin Hiles captured these videos of this breathtaking lightning storm. A word of caution; some of the audio is NSFW, but you can just turn down your volume and look at how awesome it is.

A lot of people have asked why there is no thunder. Thankfully, Science has that answer! It's because this is  'Heat Lightning,' which basically is a scientific way of saying "it's a long ways away, so you can see it but can't hear it."
