Lufkin, Texas put bull-riding-only events on the map.  The original Bull Bash at the Expo Center back in 1990 paved the way for organizations such as the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) and Championship Bull Riding (CBR).

I remember the top names in bull riding coming to East Texas for the annual Bull Bash.  We saw Tuff Hedeman, Ty Murray, Jim Sharp, Cody Custer, Norman Curry and many others.  Plus, who could forget one of the best bulls of all time, Bodacious, taking aim within the arena in Lufkin.

That's the way the Bull Bash was meant to be, some of the best bull riders in the world taking on the some of the rankest stock.  Well, I'm happy to say, that's the way it's going to be again.

Terry Williams (legendary stock contractor) along with Lufkin native Mike Mathis (Mr. Rodeo and member of the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame) have re-purchased the event and plan to rejuvenate the Bull Bash to its original bull riding glory.

The Badder's Law Firm Xtreme Bull Bash presented by Lufkin Ford is coming to the George H. Henderson Jr. Expo Center in Lufkin on Saturday, February 12.  The event is sanctioned by the PRCA and $20,000 in prize money is being added to the pot.  That means some of the best bull riders in the world will be heading to Lufkin for their share of the cash. A special thanks to other sponsors including Fish & Still Equipment and Cavender's Boot City.

Many of the bull riders that competed this past December at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas will be on hand.  Cowboys like Sage Kimzey, 7-time World Champion, and JB Mauney, 2-time PBR Champ, and Stetson Wright, 2-time All-Around Champ of the World are scheduled to be in town.  Along with them, Cody Sosebee will be working the barrel and Knox Dunn, who just won the Ultimate Bullfighters World Championship, will be one of the bullfighters at the Xtreme Bull Bash in Lufkin.

Be sure and come out to the KICKS 105 Roadshows on Saturday, February 12 to meet some of the Bull Bash celebrities.  In fact, 8-time bull riding champ of the world Don Gay will be that roadshow at Lufkin Ford (10 am-noon) and later at Cavenders in Lufkin (1 pm - 3 pm)

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the bull riding will start at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 12.  Online tickets are on sale here. Tickets will also be on sale soon at Cavender's Boot City in Lufkin. Listen to KICKS 105 and download our free KICKS 105 App to have chances to win free tickets.
