East Texas continues to be well-represented as high school basketball playoffs continue.  Girls' basketball teams are now moving into their regional semi-final matchups while the boys' basketball teams are moving in the area portion of their playoffs.

The Zavalla Lady Eagles, coming off a thrilling 7-point overtime victory in their last game, will be heading to the Austin area to play in the regional tournament there.  Meanwhile, Douglass and Tenaha are travelling to Athens for their region's 2A tournament, while Central Heights is heading to Waco to play in the 3A regional tournament.

  • Douglass vs La Poyner, Friday, February 25, 8 pm at Athens High School - winner will play the winner of the Tenaha/Martins Mill game for the regional championship
  • Tenaha vs Martins Mill, Friday, February 25, 6 pm at Athens High School
  • Central Heights vs Malakoff, Friday, February 25, 7:30 pm at Waco Midway High School - winner will play the winner of the Fairfield/Hitchcock game for the regional championship
