The latest Associated Press Texas High School Football Rankings have been released and quite a few teams from Deep East Texas are making their presence known. 

The Nacogdoches Dragons have leaped into the top 15 of the Class 5A rankings following their victory over Lufkin last Friday night.  In addition to the jump to #15 in the poll, the Dragons were also named the Dave Campbell Texas Football 5A Army Strong Team of the Week and Jaylon Lane of the Dragons was named the ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen defensive player of the week. District 16-5A features four teams in the top 15 with John Tyler at #5, Lufkin at #9, Ennis at #14, and Nacogdoches at #15.

Meanwhile, the Alto Yellow Jackets moved into the top ten of the Class 2A rankings with their rout of Tenaha.  The Shelbyville Dragons are now ranked at #15 in Class 2A.  The Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs are the Pineywood's highest ranked team as they come in at #4 in the Class 3A rankings.
