1970 – Heidi Newfield is born in Healdsburg, California. She joins party band Trick Pony, which earns a gold album with its 2001 debut. She leaves for a solo career in 2006, earning a 2008 hit with “Johnny And June”.
1960 – Keyboard player Gregg Hubbard is born in Orlando, Florida. He joins Mark Miller in starting Sawyer Brown, a five-man act that breaks out of “Star Search” in the 1980s, becoming one of country’s most energetic live bands.
