It’s Dancing, Contests & Movie Celebrities at Urban Cowboy Night
Who's ready for another night of buckle-rubbing, mechanical bull-riding, Dolly Parton look-a-liking, dance-contesting fun on a Saturday night?
The 2nd Annual Urban Cowboy Night presented by Hughes Entertainment is back for another ride at 58 Junction Cafe and Icehouse in Lufkin. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 14 to take your time capsule back to Gilley's with Bud and Sissy and the gang. Doors will open at 6, and entertainment on the main stage will start at 7.
The Pineywoods Jamboree Band will be performing the songs that made the movie soundtrack one of the best sellers of all time. They'll also be keeping the dance floor full with many songs from the 1980s.
You can not have a true Urban Cowboy Night unless you have some of the competitions just like they did in the movie. There will be a dance contest, a Dolly Parton look-alike contest, and we will find out who is tops in riding the mechanical bull. The winner in each will win $100.
Come out and hang out with some of the Urban Cowboy celebrities such as:
Gator Conley
Check him out showing some moves on the dance floor.
Norman Tucker
He was tops on the punching bag at Gilley's. This video promotes an event held earlier.
Jessie Mapes
She played Sissy's best friend on Urban Cowboy.
Tickets are $15 through Friday, October 13, then they will be $20 at the door. Get your tickets online at Eventbrite.
More details about the events of the night can be found here.
