Lovelady Battles Mt. Enterprise in our FNF Featured Game of the Week
We are getting set for another Friday of district football across East Texas. The threat of nasty weather has caused some games to be moved to Thursday, but hopefully the forecast is right and we won't see the downpours start until late Friday night. Be sure to listen to KICKS 105 beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, we'll be bringing you the latest football scores on KICKS 105's Friday Night Frenzy, powered by RNR Tire Express.

Featured Game of the Week
It doesn't get much bigger than this. Lovelady is ranked #4 in Class 2A, Division II. Mt. Enterprise comes in as the #9 team in the state. They are both undefeated, and Friday night, the Lions and Wildcats will battle for the road to the district championship.
Mt. Enterprise features Texas Tech commit Kaegan Ash. The senior running back/linebacker has rushed for nearly 1700 yards this season, giving him 8510 in his Wildcat career. That puts him 7th in Texas in all-time rushing yards, passing Groveton's Rodney Thomas last week. Lovelady features a stout defense and a proficient passing game.
I'm going to give the edge to Lovelady in this one. Even though Mt. Enterprise is the home team, they say defense wins championships, and I think that the Lions will get just enough stops to take the victory. Prediction: Lovelady 41, Mt Enterprise 34.
Other Significant Games
It's a battle between 1st and 2nd place in District 9-5A when Lufkin hosts #6 Port Arthur Memorial. I'll definitely be pulling for Lufkin, but I think Memorial will take it. Prediction: Memorial 38, Lufkin 24.
Nacogdoches puts its undefeated district record on the line when it travels to take on Marshall. The Mavericks may have the best defense the Dragons have faced this year (Lufkin included). Prediction: Marshall 24, Nacogdoches 13.
District 11-2A, Division I is nicknamed 'Little SEC' since it features so many top-caliber teams. Following last week's win over Garrison, the Wolves of San Augustine find themselves in first place in the district and ranked number 10 in the state. Shelbyville has played a brutal schedule and is coming off a tight victory over Timpson. The Wolves are at home on Friday, and that gives them a slight edge. Prediction: San Augustine 34, Shelbyville 26.
