
Deep East Texas High School Teams Prepare for UIL Soccer Playoffs
It's a busy time for high school sports in East Texas. The basketball playoffs just wrapped up. Now, baseball, softball, track & field, golf, and tennis are in full swing.
It's Time for Soccer Playoffs
Let's not forget about soccer. Teams across Deep East Texas are getting set for bi-district action. Here's a look at some of the area teams that are playing in conference 4A or 5A playoffs.
Livingston Lady Lions
After finishing 2nd in District 18-4A, the Lady Lions will face Vidor in the first round of the Class 4A, Division I playoffs. The game will be played Thursday at 7 p.m. at Hardin-Jefferson High School.
The two teams faced each other early in January with Vidor taking the victory. The winner of Thursday's game will face the winner of the Sealy/Northside game.
Hudson Lady Hornets
The Lady Hornets finished 3rd in District 16-4A. Hudson will take on Kilgore in the first round of the Class 4A, Division I playoffs. The game will be the first of a doubleheader Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the Tomato Bowl in Jacksonville.
The winner will face the winner of the Chapel Hill/Sulphur Springs game.
Hudson Hornets
Stop me if this sounds familiar from the paragraphs above. The Hornets finished 3rd in District 16-4A. Hudson will take on Kilgore in the first round of the Class 4A, Division I playoffs. The game will be the second of a doubleheader Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Tomato Bowl in Jacksonville.

Livingston Lions
Following a 3rd place finish in District 18-4A, the Lions are set to take on Bridge City on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Class 4A, Division I playoffs. The game will be played at Hargrave High School.
The winner will take on the winner of the Navasota/Houston Furr game.
Lufkin Panthers
The Pack finished 3rd in District 10-5A. Lufkin will play Walnut Grove on Thursday at Rose Stadium in Tyler. Game time for this bi-district Class 5A, Division I game is 7 p.m.
The winner will take on the winner of the Carrollton Turner/Frisco Centennial game.
Jasper Bulldogs
A third-place finish in district has earned the Bulldogs a first-round playoff game against Liberty in Class 4A, Division II. That game will be played Thursday at 6 p.m. at Cleveland High School. The winner will advance to take on either Houston Scarborough or Sugar Land Harmony School of Innovation.
Crockett Bulldogs
Crockett finished 4th in district and will now take on Henderson in the bi-district round of the Class 4A, Division II playoffs. That game will occur at Longview Pine Tree High School on Thursday. The winner advances to play either Mineola or Pittsburgh.
Center Roughriders
Center finished 4th in a powerful district. The Roughriders will travel to Hudson Friday night to take on Madisonville. The winner will advance to face either Van or North Lamar.
