Downtown Lufkin
There are tons of park benches, and later in the evening, after goes home for work, it gets pretty quite. I like to go sit out in front of the court house and enjoy the fountain. Hopefully it will make you think, and provide some good white noise, and not make you have to pee like it does me.

Kurth Memorial Library
Shhhhh. A library is a perfect place to do a little thinking. But if you are going to stare into space to ponder, you might want to go get a book just to at least not look like a creeper. It's quiet, and it's free. Plus you might actually learn to read.

Walking Trails
Azalea Trail is a 1.9 mile nature trail that runs from Grace Dunne Richardson Park to Kiwanis Park and is usually pretty quiet. There is also a walking trail at Kit McConnico Park that a lot of my friends use. Just always be aware of your surroundings.

Gym
There are lots of local gyms, and some are open late, and it's pretty quiet. Working out is something lots of websites quote as a great stress re leaver. But I also end up getting a bunch of thinking done on the tread mill. Livewell in Lufkin has a sauna, and if you can take the heat, during the summer months, it's usually not being used.
