5 Things We Look Forward To Every Year In East Texas
There are just some things that you wait on every year that just make you glad to be around another year. I can't speak for the rest of the world, but these are some of the things that we look forward to in our neck of the woods.
- 1
Warmer Temperatures
We aren't fans of people from other parts of the country making fun of us during winter, like we're weak or something. But, we can confidently look them in the eye and say, "Come talk to me in July."
- 2
Hunting Season
I know, it almost sounds like a total opposite of the "warmer temperatures" item from earlier, considering that hunting season comes with cooler temps. However, we do look forward to it every year.

Crawfish Season
As we wind down previous year and get ready for the new one, crawfish season tends to slip into the minds of many East Texans. (I sincerely apologize if you can't enjoy this southern delicacy because of allergies or things of that nature. That hurts.)

Fireworks
For all you fire-obsessed people out there, this one's for you. Here in East Texas, we love to shoot off fireworks. It doesn't matter what part of the year we're in, we're always looking forward to the next holiday so that we light up the sky.

Football Season
About mid-summer, we tend to start counting the days. It's all about being under those stadium lights on Friday nights, cheering on your favorite college team on Saturdays, and your favorite professional team on Sundays.
