The video and photos will go a long way in helping the U.S. National Weather Service assess the situation. That will help officials get assistance for the cleanup and restoration efforts to come.
Today the National Weather Service is on the ground surveying conditions in Nacogdoches County. This will give everyone a clear understanding of the path and severity of the tornado.

These scenes are not for the faint of heart. Seeing people's homes and their lives in this state of ruin is a harsh reality.
This could have befallen any one of us as strong thunderstorms spawned tornadic activity late Monday night on March 21st, 2022. I pray for all of these families affected by the unimaginable damage from this series of storms.
Tornados ripped through the town of Cushing in the northwesternmost part of Nacogdoches County. Now the assessment of what happened has begun.
