Residents in the Fuller Springs area of Lufkin continue to be on high alert as a murder suspect from the Beaumont area is still on the run. According to the Lufkin Daily News the suspect is thought to be responsible for killing a person in a housefire in Beaumont.

There have been several sightings, but none of them have led to an arrest. Many law enforcement agencies have been on this hunt from the start, including the Texas DPS.

[UPDATE] Beaumont PD has released a name, Channin Keon Ardoin 39 of Beaumont is a person of interest in this case. The description they released earlier was a little bit off on the age.  He is 6 feet tall, and with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt and has short dreadlocks.

Murder Suspect On The Run Since Friday Afternoon Still Not Found In Lufkin, Texas

According to the Angelina County Sheriff's office, at 3:07 pm on Friday, October 7th Beaumont PD contacted them to locate a murder suspect. Now Beaumont PD believe Ardoin was the driver that escaped in the victim's blue 2012 Hyundai Sonata driving north on Highway 69 South.

Huntington PD located the vehicle and the suspect evaded before wrecking in the Metal Mart back lot. Ardoin fled on foot towards Fuller Springs and Spring Lake Road.

Many of the local Lufkin residents hope that he has made his way out of our area, but those are just hopes. With no resolution to this matter, residents have just been trying to be diligent about keeping all cars and homes locked up.
