
9 Texas Lakes Shine In Bassmaster’s Top Rankings For 2025
Bassmaster Magazine has revealed its annual list of the 100 Best Bass Lakes in America for 2025. Several lakes in Texas that are commonly found in this annual publication are once again included.
O.H. Ivie Lake(near San Angelo) and Lake Fork (near Sulphur Springs) placed 2nd and 3rd overall, respectively. No other Texas lakes were ranked in the Bassmaster Top Ten list.
Clear Lake in California is The Top U.S. Bass Fishing Lake for 2025
California’s Clear Lake, located just north of the state's famous wine country, takes the crown as the best bass fishing lake in America. This 43,000+ acre natural lake is well-known for producing numerous double-digit largemouth.
California leads the pack this year with an unmatched 10 lakes in the Top 100, followed by Texas with nine and New York with seven.

Grading The Texas Lakes
In the Central Division of the U.S., Bassmaster placed O.H. Ivie and Lake Fork first and second.
Other Texas lakes that were ranked in the top 25 of the Central region were Lake Sam Rayburn (4), Toledo Bend Reservoir (6), Lake J.B. Thomas (9), Lake O' The Pines (16), Bois d'Arc Lake (18), Caddo Lake (19), and Lake Conroe (22).
In the 2023 publication, Toledo Bend was ranked number 6 overall in the country. In 2022, Sam Rayburn was listed at #9 in the Bassmaster Top 100.
