Brantley Gilbert says Lindsay Ell isn't the only collaborator on his next studio album. A song called "Fire and Brimstone" will feature two of country's finest vocalists: Jamey Johnson and Alison Krauss.

Speaking to Taste of Country, Gilbert shared that the self-written song is one that goes to his heart and he was humbled that Johnson and Krauss agreed to sing on it.

"Jamey is like the reverend," the "What Happens in a Small Town" singer reveals of the song's plot, "And Alison is kind of like the choir girl or front row Christian .... and I’m like the guy who’s in the back row that smokes a cigarette."

This unreleased song — which is rumored to be the title track of Gilbert's next album — is ultimately about judgement, he says. It takes place in a church, but it's meant to live well beyond nonsecular walls. Believe it or not, this gritty singer wasn't intimidated by sharing a vocal booth with two of the planet's most gifted vocalists.

"Here’s the thing, I figured out a long time ago I’m not Carrie Underwood," Gilbert admits, "And I wrote the song by myself, so it’s something that’s comfortable for my voice. Those are two of my favorite vocalists of all time. Jamey is just the man and you know Alison, I feel like if God put an angel’s voice on earth it’s probably hers."

There's not word on a release date for this song or Gilbert's next studio album. Thus far he's shared new songs in "Man That Hung the Moon," "Welcome to Hazeville" (featuring Willie Nelson, Lucas Nelson and Colt Ford) and "Not Like Us" with fans. When asked what will come first, his new baby (due in September) or the album, the 34-year-old laughs and admits it'll be the baby, but not by much.

So, expect a new Brantley Gilbert album in October? Look for him on the Not Like Us Tour starting in August. This November he'll headline the second-annual Brantley Gilbert Kick It In the Ship Cruise.
