You could say that Brantley Gilbert‘s 2011 Taste of Country Christmas Tour shows are going well. So far, the ‘Country Must Be Country Wide’ hitmaker has played four of the 10 concerts on his run, and all four have sold out. In December, Gilbert will hit six more shows across Texas and Louisiana — two of which are already out of tickets, as well.

Of course, there’s no surprise that the demand to see Gilbert live is great. Not only is he currently riding the success of his single, which hit No. 1 on Billboard last week, but he’s penned countless hits for other artists (like Jason Aldean), too, making him a country music staple even though he’s technically new to the mainstream.

George Briner, Valory Music Co.’s VP of Promotion, tells Taste of Country that 2011 is certainly the year of Brantley Gilbert, saying, “With 2011 concluding with ‘Country Must Be Country Wide’ being a No. 1 song and now headlining the sold out Taste of Country Christmas Tour, it has been a special year for Brantley Gilbert and his music.”

We can’t help but agree. Gilbert released a deluxe edition of his ‘Halfway to Heaven’ album in September, thanks to his new partnership with Valory. The release, which peaked at No. 2 on the charts, has since churned out the successful single ‘Country Must Be Country Wide’ and his latest single, ‘You Don’t Know Her Like I Do.’

Dhruv Prasad, Townsquare Media’s Executive Vice President of Live Events, echoes his support for Gilbert. “Townsquare Media and Taste of Country have been delighted to work with Brantley, Thomas Rhett, Valory Music, Hard 8 Management and CAA on our second annual Country Christmas Tour through the southwest,” he says. “Brantley’s country and rock sound is unique, and he is one of the most talented songwriters working in either format today — our audience clearly loves him.”

Do you love him? You bet we do. Brantley Gilbert is even nominated for Best New Artist in our first ever annual Taste of Country Awards — you can vote for him here.
