Brazos Valley Teacher Charged with Improper Relationship With Student
The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is currently investigating a case of an improper relationship between a female teacher and a student at Caldwell High School.
Caldewll is located about 20 miles west of Bryan/College Station. According to a release from the BCSO, sheriff's officials were notified on Friday, February 2nd of the alleged relationship by school officials and the investigation began immediately.
The investigation allegedly showed that the teacher had a relationship with a 15 year old male student that began in October of 2017. A warrant was issued for Jamie Lynn Goforth, 37, of Caldwell on February 9th. The Sheriff's Office then attempted to locate Goforth and discovered she had possibly left Burleson County. She turned herself in at the Sheriff's Office on February 11th at 1:20pm and has been charged with Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student. She is currently being held in the Burleson County Jail on $10,000 bond.
According to USA Today, Jamie Lynn Goforth is the wife of Caldwell High School's Athletic Director, Bobby Jack Goforth.
The Sheriff’s Office is cooperating fully with Caldwell ISD and is continuing their investigation of this incident.
