Cam and Alicia Keys Singing ‘Girl Crush’ Highlights ACM Honors
Rising country star Cam teamed up with R&B powerhouse Alicia Keys during the 2016 ACM Honors show to perform Little Big Town's award-winning single, "Girl Crush." The event is being televised for the first time Friday night (Sept. 9).
Cam provided lead guitar and vocals for the rendition, while Keys did her part on piano and harmonies. The two styles meshed together perfectly to result in a memorable performance that will leave people talking.
"I wanna taste her lips, yeah, ‘cause they taste like you / I wanna drown myself in a bottle of her perfume / I want her long blonde hair, I want her magic touch / Yeah, ‘cause maybe then you’d want me just as much," the curly headed country star sings with Keys.
The 10th Annual ACM Honors took place at legendary Nashville venue the Ryman in late August. The TV special will air on CBS at 9 PM ET.
Other performers who graced the stage during the event include: Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, The Band Perry, Dierks Bentley, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan.
The broadcast will include the recognition of Glen Campbell's career with a special tribute from Shelton, Urban, Bentley and Toby Keith. Each male singer will individually contribute to a Campbell medley before they come together for the classic "Rhinestone Cowboy."
The airing of the show will also feature Lambert paying tribute to Merle Haggard by performing his classic, "Misery and Gin," and Emmylou Harris presenting Lambert with the inaugural Merle Haggard Spirit Award.
