Carrie Underwood Celebrates Mike Fisher’s New Predators Title
Carrie Underwood is a star in her own right, but when her husband Mike Fisher gets the spotlight, she's nothing more than one proud wife.
Fisher plays for the Nashville Predators. He was announced as the newest captain of the NHL team on Thursday (Sep. 8), and Underwood posted to Instagram to celebrate the joyous news.
"So proud of my @mfisher1212 !!!," she captioned her enthusiastic post. "I see how hard he works every single day...he's going to wear that "C" well!"
He has been a part of the hockey franchise since 2011, playing as their starting forward.
“It’s really special to be wearing the ‘C,’” Fisher says of the career achievement. “There’s no question it’s an honor, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to wear it for a great organization, great people and a great team. I couldn’t be happier, and I’m excited. I’m looking forward to the season and it’s going to be a fun challenge.”
He will make his debut on the ice as captain when the Predators open their season Oct. 14 in Nashville against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Underwood is currently on the road as a part of the second leg of her Storyteller Tour, with dates extending through the end of November.
“I always love being on the road performing for my fans,” Underwood says about the second trek, “but something about this tour feels more magnetic than ever. Having a 360-degree view of the audience gives me the opportunity to connect with more fans and feed off their energy. I can’t wait to continue this tour into the fall!”
She won't have much of a break after the tour ends. Instead, she'll head Down Under with Keith Urban to play shows with him as a part of his Ripcord Tour in Australia and New Zealand.
