Click It Or Ticket Meet the “Convincer” Today (Video)

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Lufkin kicks off the annual Click it or Ticket seat belt enforcement campaign today at 10:30am at the Safety Rest Area in Leggett (Polk County).  TxDOT will be joined by area law enforcement agencies in an effort to remind motorists of the importance of wearing seat belts.  Texas law now requires everyone in a vehicle to be secured by a seat belt.  Officials especially want pickup truck drivers and passengers to get the message.  To ensure that Texans comply with seat belt laws, state troopers, join police officers and sheriffs’ deputies statewide during a stepped-up enforcement period between May 21st and June 3rd, including the Memorial Day holiday weekend, to ticket drivers and passengers who aren’t buckled up.

TxDOT along with Polk County officials and law enforcement to hold kick off news conference to boost safety belt awareness during Click It or Ticket Campaign.  Activities will take place at the Southbound Safety Rest Area on U.S. 59 in Leggett, Texas 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2012.  Join TxDOT, Polk County elected officials, DPS, and area law enforcement agencies.  Uniformed law enforcement officers will line the front steps of the facility with their traffic vehicles and a seatbelt rollover convincer.  For more information check out www.texasclickitorticket.com.
