Diboll Cancels Football,Volleyball Games Due to COVID-19 Concerns
Diboll High School has cancelled this week's JV and varsity football games against Woodville due to several students exhibiting symptoms that could be related to COVID-19. Those symptoms identified include fever, loss of taste and smell, diarrhea and vomiting.
According to a statement from Superintendent Vicki Thomas on the Diboll ISD Facebook Page, authorities at the high school were notified that several student-athletes and other members of the Diboll student body attended a party over the weekend, and some of those at the party are now exhibiting the COVID-19 symptoms. Those students' parents were notified and were sent home.
In addition to the football games, the Ladyjacks' volleyball match up with Warren on Friday has been cancelled.
The statement from Thomas goes on state that they have disinfected the campus today (Wednesday) and that Diboll continues to have strict protocols in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
