Dustin Lynch Hosts Sold-Out Hurricane Relief Benefit in Dallas
While the massively successful Hand in Hand benefit concert was taking place on Tuesday night (Sept. 12) on four major networks, Dustin Lynch was in Dallas, Texas, doing his part to contribute to hurricane relief efforts.
Lynch performed for a sold out crowd at Dallas Cowboys' Red River, with all of the proceeds going to the Red Cross to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, which collectively ravaged parts of Texas, Florida and the Caribbean islands. The "Cowboys and Angels" singer was inspired to host a benefit concert in the area after an "impactful meeting" with hurricane refugees at Dallas shelters.
"To come back to Dallas and get to put on a show for these folks really means a lot to me," Lynch says in a press release. "The people affected by this hurricane have shown so much strength and it’s truly been inspiring to see the community come together and support each other."
As a true token of his appreciation for the donations, the country star gave away free copies of his new album Current Mood to the first 500 fans in attendance.
Current Mood dropped on Sept. 8 and includes two chart-topping singles in "Seein' Red" and "Small Town Boy." Lynch announced he'll be headlining his first tour in 2017, the Ride or Die Tour, bringing Michael Ray, Lanco and Ryan Hurd with him as openers. The trek kicks off Nov. 3 in North Carolina and wraps up Dec. 17 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
