We are moving into the second round of Texas high school girls' basketball playoffs, and numerous teams from East Texas have won their bi-district round and are getting ready for the area round of the playoffs.

Class 4A

  • Jacksonville
    • The Maidens defeated Tyler Chapel Hill 51-34 in first-round action.
    • Jacksonville plays 12th-ranked Silsbee at Hudson on Friday at 6 p.m.

Over 35 Texas High School district football games will require more than 6 hours of round trip travel time. The longest trip will take nearly 5 hours, one way.
