Kellen Kruk of Lufkin was recently recognized in Washington, D.C. as a Youth Advocate of the Year

Elizabeth Eng, valedictorian at Pineywoods Community Academy in Lufkin, provided one of the most amazing and beautiful moments ever seen at a graduation.

The boys varsity basketball team at Pineywoods Community Academy in Lufkin are 23-2A district champions with a perfect 10-0 record.  On Tuesday, the team was scheduled to leave the school just after 1 p.m. to head out for their first round playoff game.

On March 1st, 4 year old Mia Castillo (shown here at left) was killed in a UTV accident in Louisiana.   A heartbroken East Texas community is now stepping up to help the family of this beautiful little girl who attended Pineywoods Community Academy.
