According to a post on the Nacogdoches Police Department's Facebook Page, officers responded this morning to a call this morning to someone possibly being sick.  The incident was later listed as an 'unnatural death'.  Now, police have arrested a man and charged him with murder in this case.

Around 7:34 a.m. this morning (Sunday) officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department and Fire Personnel responded to a residence in the 2400 block of East Starr Avenue, this is the portion of Starr Avenue located between Appleby Sand Road and Loop 224.

When first responders arrived they found a 72-year-old elderly victim that appeared to be deceased from an apparent assault. First responders attempted life saving measures after which she was transported to the closest hospital. The victim was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The victim has been identified to be Carole Favro from Nacogdoches. Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department located a person of interest on scene at the time of the incident. Investigators developed probable cause during their investigation.  As a result, authorities were able to charge the suspect with Murder in the death of the victim.

The suspect has been identified to be Jared Delgado from Nacogdoches. Delgado is currently being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail. The inmate booking page for the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office lists Jarred (sic) Delgado as 18 years old.  As further information becomes available it will be released.

It has been a tragic weekend of calls for first responders in Nacogdoches.  Friday evening officers were called to a 3-year-old drowning incident at a local water park, then earlier Sunday, a 23-year-old Lufkin woman died in an auto/pedestrian accident on SW Stallings Drive.  Please keep all those involved in your prayers.
