Former Lufkin Bull Bash Singer Passes at 53
Legendary Tejano singer Emilio Navaira has passed away at the age of 53. Early reports indicate that he died from a heart attack at his home in New Braunfels.
Navaira, along with artists like Selena and La Mafia, were some of Tejano's biggest stars between 1990 - 2010. In 2007, he drew nearly 70,000 when he performed at the Houston Rodeo.
In the mid-1990s, Emilio was marketed to the world of country music by his first name only. He had some success with a couple of songs that made the top 40, 'It's Not the End of the World" made it to number 27. It was during this time that Emilio was one of the featured performers at the annual Lufkin Bull Bash.
