Former Panther Earns Another National Player of the Week Award
(From AC Press Report)
Natasha Mack is going to need some bigger shelves to hold all the awards she continues to win as a college basketball player.
For the second time in the 2017-2018 basketball season, Angelina College’s Mack has earned the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Player of the Week honor.
Having already notched the honor in November, Mack doubled down with a 65-point, 28-rebound week at the end of January. Mack scored 29 points and hauled in the Lady Roadrunners’ 72-55 win at Coastal Bend College on Jan. 24 and followed up with a 36-point, 13-board showing in AC’s 98-67 win over Paris College at Shands Gymnasium on Jan. 27.
Those outbursts weren’t flukes. Mack’s year-long consistency has her leading Region XIV in several categories, including scoring (22.6 ppg), rebounding (13 rpg), field-goal percentage (60.1) and blocks (5.4 bpg).
Mack, a former Lufkin High School standout, is the daughter of Bonnie and Anthony Mack.
