"Go outside and play!"

During the summer break, that can be a very common response from parents whenever their kids mention how bored they are. It's usually a valid response, but when the heat index is already rising above 100 degrees by noontime, playing outside can be uncomfortable, if not flat-out dangerous.

How about a movie?

Well, there are definitely some pros to that activity.  You can be entertained for upwards of two hours, and the theater is air-conditioned. But, there's the cost to consider.  When you add up the cost of movie tickets and the drinks and snacks, that's enough money to pay for a tank quarter-tank of gas.

Nacogdoches Public Library to the rescue

The City of Nacogdoches Public Library is offering a movie matinee this Friday beginning at 12 noon.  The library will be showing the Disney/Pixar movie, 'Soul'. The movie was released on Christmas Day 2020 and features the voices of Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey.  The story revolves around a middle-school music teacher who gets his dream gig of playing at a jazz club, but that's before the unthinkable happens...

But Wait...There's Less

Remember all that I said about the cost of tickets and snacks?  No need to worry about that with this movie matinee at the Nacogdoches Public Library.  The cost of the movie is free.  The cost of the popcorn and drinks is free.  A special thanks to the Nacogdoches Junior Forum for sponsoring this event.

Even though this is a free event, you must sign up for your tickets as space is limited.
