Garrett Primary Invites Area Professionals for ‘Lend a Hand Day’

A few weeks ago, I received an invite from the folks at Garrett Primary in Lufkin to be one of their presenters at the annual 'Lend a Hand Day'. This event features area professionals sharing their community impact with Pre-K students. 

Representing their businesses were Angelina Savings Bank, Ellen Trout Zoo, Academy of Hair Design, Changing Lives Dance Center, Kurth Memorial Library, Marco's Pizza, Angelina College School of Nursing, and, of course, KICKS 105 Radio.

I had the chance to visit with quite a few different sections of 4 year old students.  We talked about radio, but they were most excited when I put them live on KICKS 105.

I would like to give a special shout out to all the teachers and staff who allowed me and my fellow presenters to share our skills with these students.  It's always fun to get 4-year-olds all hyped up and then return them back to the teachers.  A special thanks to Angelica Palacios for being a major cog in organizing the Lend a Hand Event.
