Veterans Day is coming up this Saturday, and once again, Groveton ISD will be saluting veterans with a delicious meal and tribute.

The staff and students at Groveton try to pick a date and time that is offset from other East Texas events honoring veterans so that these men and women won't miss out on this great opportunity.

This year's salute and luncheon will be held Thursday, November 9th from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Any veteran, active duty military, law enforcement, or firefighter and their spouses are invited for a free meal of BBQ brisket, potato salad, beans, and dessert.

The Groveton cafeteria will be set up with buffet lines with students serving the meal. Tables will be set up for seated dining, However, drive-through service will also be available with take-out orders.

Groveton students will have several stations set up along the bus pick-up route. Each station will honor veterans for their service. Much of the artwork that will be displayed in the drive-through was designed and created by the student body at Groveton.

To enter the drive-through salute, turn onto West Fourth Street off Highway 94. Students plus other American notables such as the Statue of Liberty and Uncle Sam will help direct you through the route.

A huge thank you to the Groveton faculty, students, and other volunteers who do such a great job every year of honoring our veterans.
