It's been a while since our last widespread soaking across Deep East Texas, but that looks to change in the next 48 hours.

The National Weather Service is tracking a slow moving cold front that should bring the eastern third of Texas some storms Sunday evening through Monday.  In fact, another stronger low pressure system is forecast to move across our region Tuesday and Wednesday which will bring another round of widespread thunderstorms.

The probability for severe weather is low, however, this is East Texas and that may need to be updated.  We are expected to receive up to 3 inches of rain in many parts of the area, and that will be welcome.  Central Texas has just been labeled as moderately dry according to the latest drought monitor and East Texas is considered abnormally dry.
